About this file

The document is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Form from the City of Fort Myers, Florida, designed to support the city's MBE goal of 15% for a Carbon Reduction Study project (FDOT 451523-1-18-01). The form provides a structured approach for prime contractors and subcontractors to document their good faith efforts in engaging minority-owned businesses, with steps for recording contractor information, MBE contractor details, transmittal letters, communication records, and explanations for any non-utilized or incomplete MBE quotes.

The form requires detailed documentation of outreach efforts, including specific contact methods (certified mail, telephone, in-person visits), and reasons for selecting or not selecting minority-owned businesses. It is part of the city's commitment to promoting diversity in contracting, with a pragmatic format to help contractors demonstrate their efforts to include minority businesses in the bidding and contract execution process. The form is specifically tied to a feasibility study investigating bicycle and pedestrian street opportunities in Downtown Fort Myers, with project boundaries defined by specific street intersections.
