About this file

This is a legislative document from the City of New Haven Board of Alders authorizing a multiyear agreement for facility management services for the Central Facilities Portfolio. The portfolio includes four specific facilities: Government Center, Pitkin Tunnel, 424 Chapel Street, and the Dixwell Community House. The order authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with a vendor selected through a Request for Proposal (RFP) procurement process, with the potential for a contract term of up to five years. The Engineering Department will be responsible for overseeing the facility management services, which require twenty-four-hour building operations, maintenance, and repair services.

The budget for maintenance and repairs will be set annually by the Board of Alders in the City Budget. The document indicates that the vendor will be solicited and selected through a competitive RFP process, with the goal of securing a comprehensive facility management solution. The legislation was passed by the Board of Alders on March 4, 2024, after receiving a favorable report from the Finance Committee on February 12, 2024. The order provides flexibility for the Mayor to enter into subsequent amendments and additional documents related to the facility management services as deemed necessary or desirable for the City of New Haven.
