B. Protect construction exposed by, or for quality control service activities, and repair construction.
C. Contractor is responsible for, but not limited to, all repair and protection of existing equipment, systems, and services, associated with or affected by the contract requirements and work area.
1.3 INDUSTRY STANDARDS
A. Applicability of Standards: Unless the Contract Documents include more stringent requirements, applicable construction industry standards have the same force and effect as if bound or copied directly into the Contract Documents to the extent referenced. Such standards are made a part of the Contract Documents by reference.
B. Applicability of Codes: Unless the Contract Documents include more stringent requirements, or are exempted by the COR, the Contractor shall comply with the latest edition of all codes applicable to the scope of work.
C. Publication Dates: Comply with the standards in effect as of the date of the Contract Documents
D. Conflicting Requirements: Where compliance with two or more standards is specified and the standards establish different or conflicting requirements for minimum quantities or quality levels, comply with the most stringent requirement. Refer to uncertainties and requirements that are different but apparently equal to the COR for a decision before proceeding.
1. Minimum Quantity or Quality Levels: The quantity or quality level shown or specified shall be the minimum provided or performed. The actual installation may comply exactly with the maximum quantity or quality specified, or it may exceed the minimum within reasonable limits. To comply with these requirements, indicated numeric values are minimum or maximum, as appropriate, for the context of the requirements. Refer uncertainties to the COR for a decision before proceeding.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 010000 - 2
E. Copies of Standards: Each entity engaged in construction on the Project must be familiar with industry standards applicable to its construction activity. Copies of applicable industry standards are not bound with the Contract Documents.
1. Where copies of standards are needed to perform a required construction activity, the
Contractor shall obtain copies directly from the publication source and make them available on request.
F. Abbreviations and Names: Trade association names and titles of general standards are frequently abbreviated. Where abbreviations and acronyms are used in the Specifications or other Contract Documents, they mean the recognized name of the trade association, standards-generating organization, authorities having jurisdiction, or other entity applicable to the context of the text provision. Refer to Gale Research's "Encyclopedia of Associations" or ‘Columbia Books' "National Trade & Professional Associations of the U.S.," which are available in most libraries.
1.4 RECORD DRAWINGS
The Government shall provide the Contractor with an electronic copy of the record drawings in PDF format. During the course of construction, the addition of new graphics or text shall be in green; the removal of any text or graphics shall be in red. Any additional notes or general information shall be noted in blue. These “as-builts” shall be submitted to the FAA both in hard and soft copy; the number of copies is to be determined by the COR. As-Built progress shall be reviewed as part of each pay application submitted by the Contractor.
