About this file
The document is an Electrical Scope of Work for the Lamar EV Charger Project (#24485) issued by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) on September 25, 2024. The project involves electrical infrastructure improvements for installing two new electric vehicle (EV) chargers at the existing maintenance site located at 2402 S. Main St. in Lamar, Colorado. The scope includes providing electrical panel, conduit, wiring, and associated equipment for the EV charging infrastructure. Specifically, the project requires installing underground and overhead conduit, a new secondary utility transformer, a Unistrut structure with concrete piers, a 240/120V single-phase 600A panelboard, CT cabinet, and meter. The electrical chargers (Chargepoint CP6011X-80A-L7, 80A Dual Port, Pedestal Mount) will be procured and installed under a separate contract.
The existing electric service will be provided by Lamar Light and Power, and the contractor will be responsible for coordinating transformer and meter installation with the utility. The contractor must obtain and pay for permits and inspections from the State Electrical Inspector, with CDOT covering the initial code review and final code inspection. Additional code review inspections resulting from a failed initial inspection will be the contractor's responsibility. Prior to site work, the contractor must locate all utilities through the Utility Notification Center of Colorado (UNCC) and a private locating service. Safety measures include installing 4-foot impact-resistant yellow bollards in front of each charging station and electrical equipment structure. The project requires precise coordination with the owner to verify charger locations and final electrical connections.
