Part 2. PRODUCTS

2.1 PIPE MATERIAL

A. This specification is for 18-inch to 60-inch Corrugated Polyethylene(Dual Wall) pipe for use in gravity flow

A. applications.Corrugated Polyethylene Pipe: This specification describes N-12® DOUBLE WALL corrugated polyethylene drainage pipe

12ӯ- through 60ӯ- ADS HP Storm pipe for use in gravity applications

1. Requirements i 18- through 30 60-inch pipe shall have a smooth interior and annular exterior corrugations and meet or exceed ASTM F2736

F2306/ F2648 and AASHTO M330 M294 Type S ii 36- through 60-inch pipe shall have a smooth interior and annular exterior corrugations and meet or exceed ASTM F2881

F2648 and AASHTO M330 iii All culverts shall have an internal manning’s “n” value not to exceed 0.012 iv Pipe and fittings shall be made out of high-density polyethylene resin that meets or exceeds the requirements of aSTM D3350. Pipe shall contain a minimum of 2% Carbon Black content per aSTM D3350.

B. Joint Performance

1. Pipe shall be joined with a gasketed integral bell & spigot joint meeting the requirements of ASTM F2736 or

F2881, for the respective diameters.

2. 18-inch - through 60-inch shall be watertight according to the requirements of ASTM D3212. Spigots shall have gaskets meeting the requirements of ASTM F477. Gasket shall be installed by the pipe manufacturer and covered with a removable, protective wrap to ensure the gasket is free from debris. A joint lubricant available from the manufacturer shall be used on the gasket and bell during assembly.

3. 18-inch through 60-inch diameters shall have a reinforced bell with a polymer composite band installed by the manufacturer

C. Fittings

1. Fittings shall conform to ASTM F2648 F2736, ASTM F2306 F2881 and AASHTO M330 M252/ M294, for the respective diameters. Bell & spigot connections shall utilize a spun-on, welded or integral bell and spigot with gaskets meeting

ASTM F477. Bell & spigot fittings joint shall meet the watertight joint performance requirements of ASTM D3212.

Corrugated couplings shall be split collar, engaging at least 2 full corrugations.

D. Material Properties

1. Polypropylene compound for pipe and fitting production shall be impact modified copolymer meeting the material requirements of ASTM F2736,
