About this file
This document is an internal job aid for the CHIP Program, specifically designed to provide step-by-step guidance on programming chips using the BALLUFF DASHBOARD Configuration Tool.
The job aid outlines a 10-step process for programming chips that begins with connecting a programmed reader to a workstation running WSCRAWLS or the DASHBOARD Program. Key configuration requirements include setting the baud rate to 19200, selecting the BISM-410 device type, and setting the tag type to NXP ICODE1. Critical specifications include ensuring continuous read length is set to 8 bytes, read/write length is also set to 8, and delay is set to 1. The process involves placing the chip on a reader write box, entering tag data into the system, and clicking "WRITE TAG DATA." The final verification step requires removing the chip and placing it back on the reader to confirm the ID was properly added, with the number appearing in the tag data scrolling text field. This job aid does not address federal contract opportunities, procurement requirements, or contracting vehicles; it is an internal operational document for a specific government organization.
