About this file

This is a PowerPoint map showing the layout for the 2025 Tinker Air Show, with detailed annotations from Mario Carrasco providing recommendations for improvements. The map outlines locations for aircraft static displays, vendor areas, viewing areas, facilities, and support services across the airshow grounds. Key features include designated areas for demo teams, VIP locations, handicap viewing, food vendors, and emergency services.

The annotations suggest several operational improvements including: expanding the audio footprint to static display areas, establishing a combined lost and found/lost parents tent, making hangars available for protecting both static and performance aircraft, optimizing DV cart paths to reduce crowd interference, maximizing static display areas with depot aircraft and maintenance displays, and improving bus routes for more efficient loading/unloading. Special emphasis is placed on handicap accessibility, with recommendations to provide dedicated transportation services and potentially ticketed viewing areas for handicapped spectators.

CARRASCO, MARIO A1C USAF AFMC 72 OSS/OSAT (CMAUA7O) - Consideration should be given to expanding audio footprint to the static display area. This will augment total crowd engagement with aerobatic acts as well as assist in crowd management during emergencies. In addition, incorporate the giant voice into emergency broadcasts. Also, ensure the radio frequency used to broadcast the announcer is widely advertised and disseminated to augment attendance in satellite airshow areas such as Glenwood.

CARRASCO, MARIO A1C USAF AFMC 72 OSS/OSAT (CMAUA7O) - Establish lost and found items collection point in conjunction with lost parents tent. Be sure to clearly advertise lost parents/lost and found items tent location with signs throughout airshow area, periodic messages from announcer and all pre airshow advertisements and maps CARRASCO, MARIO A1C USAF AFMC 72 OSS/OSAT (CMAUA7O) - Make hangar available to protect static display aircraft from weather CARRASCO, MARIO A1C USAF AFMC 72 OSS/OSAT (CMAUA7O) - Make hangar available to protect aerobatic performance aircraft from weather CARRASCO, MARIO A1C USAF AFMC 72 OSS/OSAT (CMAUA7O) - Use both south and center bays for crowd shade during the show and a shelter area during emergencies. Storing aircraft in 2121 and 2283 and sheltering people in 3102 center/south prevents crossing crowd movement and aircraft tows CARRASCO, MARIO A1C USAF AFMC 72 OSS/OSAT (CMAUA7O) - Do not extend DV cart path along eastern edge of tents. Limit cart path to blast fence area on the northern edge of K6. In 2019 DV cart path overlapped too much with spectator foot traffic.

CARRASCO, MARIO A1C USAF AFMC 72 OSS/OSAT (CMAUA7O) - Maximize this area with more statics, vendors and recruiters. Consider placing depot aircraft in various stages of maintenance and incorporating ALC job information booths CARRASCO, MARIO A1C USAF AFMC 72 OSS/OSAT (CMAUA7O) - Smoke OIl/Engine OIl Staging CARRASCO, MARIO A1C USAF AFMC 72 OSS/OSAT (CMAUA7O [2]) - B469 bus route enter/exit airshow through West Dr. The buses will loop around the area east of 3105 for loading and unloading. A large enough loop should be implemented to allow multple buses to load and unload at the same time. Queing lines should be established later in the day to expedite loading.

CARRASCO, MARIO A1C USAF AFMC 72 OSS/OSAT (CMAUA7O [2]) - B9001 bus route should use both bus route drop off/pick up points on East Dr to increase the number of buses that can be loaded/unloaded simultaneously CARRASCO, MARIO A1C USAF AFMC 72 OSS/OSAT (CMAUA7O [2]) - Consider selling or providing specific tickets for handicap viewing area to include shuttle service from airshow area gates to viewing area. At a minimum provide a transportation service for all handicapped spectators from entry gate to a viewing area.
