About this file
This is a technical requirements document outlining specifications for a moving image file encoder system for the Library of Congress National Audiovisual Conservation Center (NAVCC). The document details user interface requirements including single host web login, ability to mount external storage, operation on isolated VLAN networks, static IP compatibility, and remote desktop connectivity capabilities.
The hardware specifications require 208v/110v power compatibility, 10Gb network connectivity, dual power supplies, and rack-mounting capabilities. The system must support multiple output file formats including Archive File Format (FFV1 video/PCM WAV audio in MKV wrapper), Viewing File Format (H.264/AVC video/AAC audio in MP4 wrapper), Library of Congress Legacy Archival Format (JPEG2000 video/PCM Broadcast WAV audio in MXF wrapper), and common production formats such as Pro-Res (422 HQ and 4444) in MOV and uncompressed video in MXF OP1a, MOV, and MKV formats.
