DUCTWORK ROUTING AND GRILL LOCATIONS

The document provides information and corresponds to each of the numbered callouts in the Existing and Proposed Configuration documents, page 2 and 3 respectively. Supply ductwork is displayed in blue and return is shown in red. Refer to the numbered notes below for reference to each of those document callouts.

Existing Configurations: Page 2

1. If proposed routing requires new takeoff location, remove existing takeoffs from supply ducts as shown. Patch hole with sheet metal that matches the type and gauge used in the existing ductwork with appropriate sheet metal screws and sealant. Match existing insulation and cover all new patchwork. Remove eight existing supply diffusers and flexible ductwork and salvage for reuse in the Proposed Configuration plan below.

2. Remove existing takeoffs or tees from return ducts as shown. Patch hole with sheet metal that matches the type and gauge used in the existing ductwork with appropriate sheet metal screws and sealant. Match existing insulation and cover all new patchwork. Remove four existing return grills and salvage for reuse in the Proposed Configuration plan below.

Proposed Configuration: Page 3

1. Modify return ductwork to extend towards the back of the operatory as shown. Ductwork routing is diagrammatic only. Other routing solutions presented in the HVAC Airflow Reconfiguration Plan submittal will be considered. Use turning vanes or other approved methods to reduce friction loss. Install salvaged return grills in the rear of the operatory as shown. Install new rigid or flexible ductwork to make all connections.

2. Install new takeoff in supply ducts if necessary for routing and meeting friction requirements.

Reinstall four salvaged supply diffusers and ensure airflow directionality is oriented as shown.

Install new rigid or flexible ductwork to make all connections.

3. Specified airflow rates for all moved return and supply systems will maintain the same values as the original design. Perform Test, Adjustment, and Balance activities to achieve the specified airflow rates for all supply, return, and exhaust systems in the four open operatories shown in the attached Proposed Configuration diagram.

4. Replace all missing ceiling tiles with matching material.
