The project involves the demolition, installation of framing, plywood sheathing, and metal roofing, as well as the replacement of light panels for the Beneke Barn located within the Jewell Meadows Wildlife Area. Bids are due on September 10, 2024, and ODFW expects to issue a notice to proceed 1-2 weeks after the bid due date. ODFW will furnish 96 sheets of 4'x8' 15/32" CDX plywood, and the contractor will provide any additional sheets needed. The project also requires the replacement of the top girt (2x6) on both sides of the barn and the use of a high-temperature underlayment product instead of felt.

The ITB does not require a bid bond, but a performance bond and payment bond are required. ODFW has stated that the insurance coverage amounts are not negotiable. The project is located in Clatsop County and Scappoose City within the state of Oregon.

Bids are due 9/10/24 - how quickly can contractors expect to obtain a notice to proceed?

ODFW expects to issue a notice to proceed 1-2 weeks after bids are due, depending on time for awarded Offeror to provide required documentation.

Plywood and felt are to be supplied by ODFW.

Can you confirm that there will be enough plywood to complete the project?

Per Specification Section 01 10 00, Part 1.4.A.1, Owner will furnish “(96) 4’x8’ sheets of 15/32” CDX plywood. Contractor will provide additional sheets as needed.”

5 Can ODFW confirm that all light paneling needs to be replaced?

ODFW confirms that light paneling underneath the barn roof on both sides needs to be replaced full length of the building.

6 Is there an onsite restroom?

There is no restroom immediately onsite. Temporary sanitary and wash facilities are required to be provided by Contractor per Specification Section 01 50 00 Part 2.2.B.

7 Does the top girt need to be replaced? Yes, the top girt (2x6) will need to be replaced on both sides of the barn.

Owner has decided to use high temperature underlayment product as recommended by roofing manufacturer and Contractor will need to provide. See Addendum 3 updating Specification Section 07 41 13, Part 2.3.

9 Would ODFW prefer a closed or open bumper cap (ridge cap)? Asking for cosmetic purposes.

10 Are there gutters on the barn? The barn does not have gutters. The barn has a drip edge.

The panels at the top of the barn are larger than the standard 4 inches (likely to account for the drip edge). Could ODFW accept a 4-inch drip edge replacement?

No.

Butyl tape should be utilized underneath the drip edge.
