About this file
This is an advertisement for design services issued by Alamance Community College in North Carolina for the Technology Infrastructure Replacement Project (SCO #28434). The project encompasses two integrated work elements: the design of a diverse underground conduit pathway system providing a minimum of two separate and independent connectivity paths to each building on the Carrington-Scott Campus located at 1247 Jimmie Kerr Road, Graham, NC, and the design of a redundant 24-strand single-mode fiber optic network operating over the newly installed conduit system. The conduit infrastructure work includes directional boring, trenching, conduit installation, pull boxes, handholes, and restoration of disturbed surfaces. The fiber optic network design shall provide fully redundant pathways with all strands terminated, tested, and connected to both of the College's on-campus data centers located in the T Building and Main Building. Proposals are due June 2, 2026, at 3:00 pm, with a pre-proposal meeting and mandatory site visit scheduled for May 20, 2026, at 10:00 am in the Main Building Auditorium, Room 301. Respondents must submit three copies of SF-254 forms and a qualifications information package not exceeding twenty pages plus the SF-254 form, formatted as 8.5" x 11" pages stapled in the upper left-hand corner.
The total project budget is $700,000, funded through the State Capital Improvement Fund (SCIF). Selection criteria include specialized expertise in the project type, past performance on similar projects, adequate staffing and design team composition, current workload and state project awards, proposed design approach, recent experience with project costs and schedules, construction administration capabilities, proximity and familiarity with the project location, and record of successfully completed projects without major legal or technical problems. Submissions should be directed to Jay Mayer, the project contact, at Alamance Community College, either via USPS to PO Box 8000, Graham, NC 27253, Main Building Room M364, or via FedEx/UPS to 1247 Jimmie Kerr Road, Graham, NC 27253.

Scope
The Project consists of two integrated work elements:
Campus Conduit Infrastructure: Design of a diverse underground conduit pathway system providing a minimum of 2 separate and independent connectivity paths to each building on the Carrington-Scott Campus at 1247 Jimmie Kerr Road, Graham, NC, linking all campus buildings to a central distribution point(s). Work includes, but is not limited to, directional boring, trenching, conduit installation, pull boxes, handholes, and restoration of all disturbed surfaces.
Fiber Optic Network: Design of a redundant 24-strand single-mode fiber optic (SMF) network operating over the newly installed conduit system, with all strands terminated, tested and connected to both of the College’s on-campus data centers (Located in T Bldg and Main Bldg). The network architecture shall provide fully redundant pathways to eliminate single points of failure. Other relevant project information is available on RFQ Project Brief
