About this file
This is a clarification document and bid package for an interior chilled piping insulation project at Ann J Kellogg School in Battle Creek Public Schools, managed by ELITE Companies. The project involves installing closed cell insulation based on Armaflex engineered foam products throughout the school building's chilled piping system. The project is scheduled to run from June 25, 2019 to August 6th, 2019, with work to be performed in four designated areas of the building. The scope includes furnishing all materials and labor necessary to install interior mechanical piping insulation for cold-water piping systems.
The bid package requires contractors to submit linear foot pricing for insulation installation, labor rates for each worker category, and equipment rates. The bid must be broken down by four separate areas within Ann J Kellogg School, with a performance and payment bond required for bids exceeding $50,000. The project requires coordination around ongoing mold remediation and duct cleaning work, with contractors responsible for maintaining separate crews as needed. The technical specifications mandate using Armaflex or equivalent closed cell insulation products that meet specific thermal conductivity, flame spread, and vapor transmission requirements, with detailed installation procedures provided.
