About this file

This is an Insurance Requirements document issued by Collier County Board of County Commissioners in Florida for state and local contract opportunities. The document establishes mandatory insurance and bonding requirements that all contractors and vendors must maintain throughout the duration of their agreements with the County. The insurance requirements include Workers' Compensation coverage in accordance with Florida Statutes Chapter 440 and federal requirements, Employer's Liability insurance with a $100,000 single limit per occurrence, Commercial General Liability coverage with $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate limits on an occurrence basis form, and Automobile Liability insurance. Additional specialized coverage may be required depending on the nature of work, including Watercraft, Maritime Coverage (Jones Act), Aircraft Liability (minimum $5,000,000 per occurrence if applicable), Pollution, Professional Liability ($1,000,000 per claim and in the aggregate), and Cyber Liability coverage. All contractors must provide a bid bond equal to 5% of the cost proposal, and contractors awarded projects exceeding $200,000 must provide Performance and Payment Bonds written for 100% of the contract award amount.

All certificates of insurance must name Collier County Board of County Commissioners as the additional insured and certificate holder at 3295 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, FL 34112, with the County's coverage being primary and non-contributory. Contractors must ensure compliance with all insurance requirements before the County processes the recommended award, with evidence of insurability potentially required within five days of notification. All subcontractors must comply with identical insurance requirements, and 30 days' cancellation notice is mandatory. For construction projects, Collier County will procure and maintain Builders Risk Insurance as deemed necessary, with premiums billed to the project and not included in contractor proposals. The County will handle all Builders Risk Insurance questions through its Risk Management Division. By submitting a bid, vendors acknowledge and accept all insurance requirements and agree to maintain coverage throughout the agreement performance period.
