About this file

This is an Insurance and Bonding Requirements document for Collier County, Florida, establishing mandatory insurance coverage for contractors providing Aerial Crossings Pipe Painting Services. The scope of work involves cleaning, preparing, and painting County-owned above-ground potable water, wastewater, and irrigation quality pipes and appurtenances at seven countywide locations, many of which cross canals and require specialized access equipment. The project requires contractors to provide all labor, equipment, and means necessary to safely access and complete work on canal crossings and elevated locations in compliance with OSHA regulations, with FDOT MOT Certification required if road blockage is necessary. Professional-grade coatings from approved manufacturers (Tnemec, PPG, Sherwin-Williams, or AkzoNobel equivalents) must be applied according to manufacturer specifications and County utility standards, with finished surfaces uniform and free of defects.

Contractors must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage including Workers' Compensation (statutory limits), Employer's Liability ($1,000,000 single limit), Commercial General Liability ($1,000,000 single limit per occurrence with $2,000,000 aggregate), Automobile Liability ($1,000,000 each occurrence), and Pollution Liability ($1,000,000 per claim and aggregate). Collier County must be named as an additional insured on the Commercial General Liability policy, with certificates of insurance required within five days of award notification. All subcontractors must comply with identical insurance requirements, and certificates must include the Contract Number and reference either the specific project description or state the work is performed "on behalf of Collier County." A 30-day cancellation notice is mandatory for all insurance policies, and the County will procure and maintain Builders Risk Insurance with premiums billed to the project rather than included in contractor proposals.
