About this file
This is an Insurance Checklist document issued by the City of West Sacramento establishing mandatory insurance requirements for all standard city contracts. The document specifies comprehensive insurance coverage thresholds that contractors and vendors must maintain throughout their engagement with the City. For the Architectural and Engineering Design Services contract for the Rec Center Locker Room Renovation, proposers must provide Commercial General Liability coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate, Commercial Automobile Liability of $1,000,000 per accident, Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability per statutory requirements, and Professional Liability (Errors & Omissions) of $1,000,000 per claim. All policies except Workers' Compensation and Professional Liability must name the City of West Sacramento—specifically its officers, officials, employees, agents, and volunteers—as an additional insured. Certificates of Insurance must be submitted to the City at 1110 West Capitol Avenue, West Sacramento, CA 95691, and must include 30 days' written notice provisions for cancellation or material changes.
Contractors must provide Additional Insured Endorsements equivalent to CG 2010 0714 for both General Liability and Automobile Liability coverage, along with Primary and Noncontributory Endorsements and Separation of Insureds clauses for each. Workers' Compensation policies must include a Waiver of Subrogation Endorsement in favor of the City, its officers, agents, and employees, or an equivalent Workers' Compensation Waiver if the contractor is self-employed with no employees. A copy of the Additional Insured Endorsement must be attached to the Certificate of Insurance to verify proper policy endorsements; certificates lacking this documentation will be deemed incomplete. These insurance requirements are standard for all City of West Sacramento contracts and apply uniformly to all contractors and vendors regardless of contract type or value.
