About this file
India Range Berm Remediation Specification
This specification document outlines remediation requirements for the India Range in Massachusetts, detailing soil removal and restoration procedures to address munitions-impacted soils on the range berm. The project scope requires removal of the top layer of loam and soil fill down to the inner liner mat, with all removed soils to be contained and disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations. Following soil removal, the fabric liner must be restored or replaced, and the berm surface restored with new 1/4" minus soils applied across the entire berm area. The work sequence includes installation of jute matting and hydro-seeding to stabilize the restored surface. All work must commence after October 1, 2026, with 100 percent project completion required by December 30, 2026, establishing a compressed timeline of approximately three months for all remediation activities.
The specification establishes technical and procedural requirements for material handling, disposal, and restoration activities but does not contain pricing information, set-aside provisions, incumbent contractor details, or funding source documentation in the available file content. The project appears to be driven by environmental remediation objectives related to munitions contamination at a military training range, with the December 2026 completion deadline suggesting coordination with operational schedules or environmental compliance requirements for the facility.
