About this file
The document is a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) from the Hawaii Army National Guard (HIARNG) for the Inadvertent Discovery of Cultural Resources. It outlines the steps to be taken by all personnel, including leadership, environmental and facilities staff, and others, upon the inadvertent discovery of cultural resources during activities such as field training exercises, construction, and maintenance. The SOP cites relevant statutes, including the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA), and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), as well as applicable Hawaii state laws.
The related state and local contract opportunity is for the Cutting and Clearing of approximately 21,000 square feet (.48 acres) of vegetated land at the KMR CSMS2 facility in Hawaii. The contractor will be required to provide all labor, tools, equipment, and materials to perform this work, which includes removing various types of trees and shrubs. No additional details are provided regarding pricing, set asides, funding sources, or the incumbent contractor.
