About this file

This document is an official Notice of Imminent Danger issued by the City of Pittsburgh's Department of Permits, Licenses, and Inspections (PLI). The notice indicates that a specific property or structure has been deemed unsafe and its occupancy has been prohibited by a code official. The notice cites a violation under City Code 109.1 for a dangerous structure or premises, with potential penalties ranging from $1 to $1,000 per violation for each day the violation remains uncorrected. The property owner is instructed to obtain required approvals, permits, and/or licenses to either demolish or repair the structure.

The document outlines significant consequences for non-compliance, including potential revocation or suspension of licenses and permits, and the possibility of the city pursuing legal action to obtain compliance. The property owner has a 30-day window to appeal the violations by submitting a written appeal to the PLI using approved forms, which can be downloaded from the city's website. If not addressed, any corrective actions taken by the city will be charged against the real estate and become a lien on the property. The notice emphasizes that removing the imminent danger placard without official approval can result in additional penalties.
