About this file

The document is a City of Pittsburgh Department of Permits, Licenses, and Inspections (PLI) condemnation notice, issued under the authority of Mayor William Peduto and Director Maura Kennedy. The placard serves as an official notification for a property that has been condemned due to violations of the International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) as adopted under Pittsburgh City Code Chapter 1004, with potential violations including unsafe structures, unsafe equipment, unsuitability for human occupancy, unlawful structures, and dangerous structures or premises.

The notice outlines specific actions required by the property owner, including obtaining necessary permits to repair or resolve violations, vacating the structure, and prohibiting occupancy. Penalties for non-compliance can include fines up to $1,000 per violation, with each day of violation considered a separate offense. The document also informs the property owner of their right to appeal the condemnation to the Board of License and Inspection Review. The placard is part of the city's code enforcement process and provides detailed instructions for addressing property code violations, with contact information for the Department of Permits, Licenses, and Inspections located at 412 Boulevard of the Allies in Pittsburgh.
