About this file
This is a materials specification sheet for Zebra Z-Select 4000D 3.2mil receipt paper, included as an attachment to an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for requisition number 6200_JRN1040. The specification sheet details the physical and performance characteristics of the direct thermal receipt paper product being procured. The Z-Select 4000D features a 3.2mil white smooth coated direct thermal paper facestock with excellent print quality and 25-year archivability under proper storage conditions. The material is suitable for applications including packing lists, general purpose ticketing, and work-in-process tagging. Operating specifications indicate a service temperature range of -40°F to 140°F, optimal storage conditions of 72°F at 50% relative humidity, and the product is not recommended for outdoor use.
The specification sheet includes chemical resistance data indicating that the material is not recommended for exposure to blood, body fluid, salt water, ammonia, bleach, isopropyl alcohol, gasoline, grease, oil, acetone, and various solvents including MEK, TCE, and xylene. Recommended tone settings are provided for various Zebra printer models including the MZ220, MZ320, QL series, QLn series, RW series, and ZQ series printers. The document emphasizes that purchasers are solely responsible for independently verifying product conformity with their specific application requirements and that all products should be pre-tested prior to use. For archival purposes, the receipts must be protected from light, heat, water, solvents, cleaners, plasticizers, and oils, and stored at temperatures below 77°F with 45-65% relative humidity to maintain image legibility for the full 25-year period.

*Images will remain legible for up to 25 years provided they are formed properly and the receipts are handled and stored under the proper conditions. For archival use these receipts need to be protected from exposure to light, heat, water, solvents, cleaners, plasticizers, and oils (including vegetable oils and skin oils), and they need to be stored with compatible materials at temperatures less than 77 F, and 45-65% RH. Image durability depends on the energy used to print the receipts. To maximize image durability, receipts should be printed at the recommended tone settings.
