About this file
This is an addendum to an Invitation for Bid (IFB 26-042-JG) issued by Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) for the Marydia to Hansel 69kV Storm Hardening Project involving tubular steel transmission poles. Addendum #1, issued on August 10, 2026, modifies and clarifies the original solicitation requirements and must be incorporated into all bid responses. The project requires eight transmission structures consisting of one H9, two H11, four custom structures, and one H10, with lengths ranging from 80 to 110 feet and embedment depths between 16.5 and 27 feet. Bids are due August 11, 2026, with delivery required by July 1, 2027. The addendum addresses five key questions from bidders regarding load testing requirements, loading table inconsistencies for structures 9194 and 9195, load application positions, and arm design specifications.
The addendum clarifies that KUA has removed the load test requirement for the project, eliminating a significant cost and delivery delay concern raised by prospective bidders. Revised steel pole load trees have been provided for structures 9194 and 9195 to address corrupted and inconsistent loading data in the original documentation. The addendum permits flexibility in arm design, allowing changes from four-sided to six-sided arm sections and accepting necessary design modifications to meet specified horizontal length and loading requirements. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of Addendum #1 and return the signed acknowledgment form with their bid response. Revised drawings titled "KUA 04-0123_Steel Package_REV1_08.04.2026" replace pages S7501-S7509 of the original Section 3 specifications and supersede all prior verbal or written instructions to qualified proposers.

Steel Transmission Poles
ADDENDUM #1
Bidders are hereby notified that this addendum shall be made a part of the above-named Invitation to Bid and agreement documents. The items listed below are issued to add, modify, and/or clarify the solicitation document and agreement documents. The items shall have the same force and effect as the original bidding and agreement documents, and cost involved shall be included in the bid pricing. Bids, to be submitted, shall confirm with the addition and revision listed herein. Return this sheet with your bid response.
I. QUESTIONS
Q1. Dear KUA Team, Load tests are normally avoided for Transmission poles due to high cost and delays in delivery. Moreover, it's only one pole per type, each one with a load test. Can you confirm this load test is really needed?
A1. KUA has removed the load test requirement for this project.
Q2. For structures 9194, the load values appear to be corrupted (refer to the image below), and the same values are shown for all load cases. Could you please provide the correct load table for this structure.
A2. Please see the revised steel pole load trees for clarity.
Q3. Please confirm the loading information for the following structures: Structure 9194: The loading table appears to be inconsistent. Could you please confirm that the loading values shown are correct? Structure 9195: The loading table does not include the Ahead and Back components. Based on the current loading, the structure appears to represent a dead-end condition rather than a tangent structure. Could you please confirm that the loading values are correct, or provide an updated loading table if necessary?
A3. Please see the revised steel pole load trees for clarity.
Q4. Regarding the position where the load be applied There are eight pairs the load point(red part in the below table) in the load table, but these loading positions did not mark on the drawings. Please provide the position on the pole where these loads should be applied.
A4. KUA has removed the load test requirement for this project.

Q5. Regarding the arm a. The 2.02B.4 item In the MVAB26096 TUBULAR STEEL SPECIFICATION said “Arm Shape: Provide 4-sided arm sections”. Can the arm be changed to 6 sided ? b. Based on diagram of the arm in the drawing, There seems to be a rise at small end of arm. Could you provide the rise size?
A5. The distribution arm design should meet the provided horizontal length and loading requirements. Any necessary design changes to the arm shape or rise are acceptable.
II. ATTACHMENTS-REVISED DRAWING
a. Revised Drawing. Please refer to attached revised drawing file titled
“KUA 04-0123_Steel Package_REV1_08.04.2026.” This revised drawing file replaces the pages S7501-S7509 in the Section 3 (Specifications) of the solicitation document.
