Title: Police Station Security Fencing

Due Date/Time: January 23, 2024 @ 4:00 p.m.

Due Date/Time changed to: February 6, 2024 @ 4:00 p.m.

This addendum is issued to make the following changes, corrections, clarifications, and additions to the invitation for bid document. The information in this addendum modifies and changes the original invitation for bid and takes precedence over the original document.

• The scope of the project is outlined into three disciplines and as shown in the Security Gates and Fencing Plans (posted).

1. Fencing and Gates

2. Electrical Contract (By Others)

3. Civil Contract (By Others)

• Project deliverables are fencing and gates and related appurtenances only. Clarifying instructions for the drawings and technical specifications are provided on page 9 of the IFB.

Electrical and Civil work will be provided by other contractors. The project includes two bifold speed gates by Wallace or equal; clear drive through widths with a catch plate with concrete base for each gate; 2 x 2 mesh with 7-gauge ties black fencing with climb over deterrent; rails with bottom of fence 6-inches into the soil; vehicle detection loops. Each section of the four technical specification sections will be selectively enforced based on the fencing and gate work only. Accordingly, asphalt work as described in section 32-1216 as milling and paving as well as full paving in some sections will not be required. Any excavation in the asphalt areas however will be restored with temporary asphalt to allow for full use of roadways.

• Contract Administration will be managed by the Architect, FGMA, and as such contractor-approved shop drawings and catalog cuts, as well as pay requests, are to be submitted to the Architect. The City will provide building permit inspections and on-site observations via use of the City Project Managers and building inspectors. The Architect will manage the project meetings. Special Inspections and testing for construction materials will be provided by the City’s independent consultant.

• The City acknowledges that the Notice to Proceed (NTP) will be subject to availability of gates and as such the City will hold the NTP until such time that the contractor is ready to begin

with the equipment, gates, and materials of construction. Substantial Completion is to be 120 days from NTP. Final Completion will be 30 days after Substantial Completion.

• Project Requirements include the following:

• Storage – off site can be eligible for materials payment if the materials or equipment can be inspected by the City at a local site

• Monthly Meetings with reporting will substitute for written monthly reports

• Building and Zoning Permits are complete and permitting will be free to the contractor

• The contractor will apply for the final building permit to be posted

• Materials and equipment may be stored directly to the south of the police station

• A Responsible Safety Supervisor will be required on site

• Locations for fencings connections were identified were identified at the pre-bid conference. Also noted that in areas where swales exist the fencing needs to extend downward such that the fence top will be level. The rear gate may have to be relocated from its current position due to the two masonry pillars that will be removed by others.

This logistic is to be determined in the future. The smaller back fence will be completed before starting work on the front gate. Materials and supplies may be stored on site immediately to the south of the police station.

All other terms and conditions remain the same.
