About this file

This is a Solicitation Addendum No. 1 issued by Austin Financial Services—Central Procurement for the City of Austin on behalf of Austin Water for Solicitation IFB 2200 MHR1015 regarding the cut, bale, and sale of hay. The addendum, dated January 9, 2026, clarifies operational parameters for hay production on designated fields. Historical production data indicates average annual output of approximately 4,700 round bales and 870 square bales over the past eight years, with minimal to no hay production during winter months (November through March). The contractor is permitted to store up to 6,300 bales on-site and may conduct loading and hauling operations during normal business hours. Light discing or soil tillage is permitted with prior approval from the farm contract manager to prevent damage to onsite equipment.

The addendum clarifies that fertilizer, lime, and herbicide are not provided by the City of Austin and must be supplied by the bidder as necessary. Austin Water does not have sufficient data to determine whether soil amendments are required for optimal hay production but may require contractors to apply compost generated onsite to the hay fields to support onsite operations. All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain unchanged. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum by returning one signed copy with their bid response prior to the solicitation closing date; failure to do so may result in rejection of the offer.
