About this file
This is a Small Business Preference submittal form for the City of Austin, Texas, establishing optional certification requirements for small businesses seeking to participate in city solicitations. The form encourages small business participation by providing a preference program for entities holding recognized certifications that comply with the US Small Business Administration's Small Business Size Standards. Offerors meeting the defined criteria are invited to complete and submit the form with their bid, though participation is optional and not required to respond to the solicitation. The City of Austin recognizes specific certifications for determining small business status and may request additional information to verify an offeror's certification status by contacting the certifying entity directly.
The form includes certification fields for offerors to provide their recognized certification details, including the certifying entity name, certification acronym, certification number, and expiration date. The City reserves the right to withhold any available preference if it determines certification information is inaccurate. If an offeror is found to have intentionally misrepresented their certification status, the City may disqualify them from the resulting contract for non-responsibility. Additionally, if misrepresentation is discovered after contract award, the City reserves the right to void the contract entirely. This submittal applies to the Sodium Bisulfate contract requiring delivery of a 38% sodium bisulfite solution in 330-gallon intermediate bulk containers to Austin Water Waste Treatment Plants on an as-needed basis.
