QUESTION AND ANSWER ROUND #2

(Question #1)

RFQ HTC711-19-Q-R001 PIRAEUS, THESSALONIKI & ALEXANDROPOULOS

1. Can you please also confirm that whenever contractor's lashing gear is used during a transfer (or any other operation) the lashing gear will be returned to contractor once the operation is over?

ANSWER: No operations should consume the ktr's lashing materials (whether the lashings leave the terminal on a conveyance, breaking them, etc); however we cannot guarantee the return of any lashing materials that leave the terminal. Any time we anticipate consuming the ktr's lashing materials (for example providing specialty lashing for a vessel that does not have them), we order lashing materials in advance to be provided by ktr as OOP expenses.

This rarely occurs because conveyances are responsible for providing their own lashing materials. Transfer is an operation that typically neither leaves the terminal area nor leaves the ktr's positive control.
