RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS #1-2
SOLICITATION # HTC711-12-R-R002
DODX FREIGHT CAR REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE
QUESTION # 1: What is the deadline for the submission? There is a deadline for the questionnaires but not the proposal.
RESPONSE: The offer due date for the Request for Proposal (RFP) is 01:00 PM Local Time 17 May 2012. This information is located in block 8 of the RFP.
QUESTION # 2: Can you estimate the amount of possible work that would be available in this area? We are in West Texas and we have noticed that your other contractors are in the South.
RESPONSE: The Government anticipates awarding up to six (6) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts, as a result of the current RFP. At this time it is impossible to accurately estimate the amount of potential work that would be available to any particular area or contractor. However, the repair and maintenance services the Government requires involves the entire Defense Freight Railway Interchange Fleet (DFRIF). At this time the DFRIF is composed of 2073 cars including 1802 flat, 224 tank, 30 box, 9 refrigerator, 6 caboose, and 2 Schnabel cars. In the event an award is made as a result of the RFP the minimum guarantee amount is $25K for the base year only.
