About this file
This document is an amendment to a solicitation for Roman Catholic pastoral care services. The amendment provides answers to questions submitted by potential offerors. Weekly Catholic mass will continue to be held on Thursdays at 11:30am at the hospital. For emergencies, the priest must be able to respond within two hours or have a backup. Ash Wednesday mass will be at 12:30pm. Having other church responsibilities on Sundays should not prevent meeting requirements as long as emergencies can be covered. The priest is only expected to be onsite for masses and emergencies according to the performance work statement and no dedicated office space will be provided. Dates for the additional eight annual masses are not specified. The solicitation number is HT940624Q0020 and it is being issued by the Defense Health Agency to provide Roman Catholic pastoral care services.

QUESTIONS/ANSWERS
Question 1: Is there a set day of the week and/or time of day that mass needs to be held?
(For the 52 weekly masses requirement)?
Answer 1: Yes, there is a set day and time for the weekly mass, it’s Thursdays at 11:30am. The priest should arrive a little before 11:15am to make sure everything is setup accordingly.
Question 2: Will the priest be required to physically be at the hospital during after hours, weekends, and holidays or does he need to be available by phone?
Answer 2: The priest must show in person to the hospital, typically under 2 hours, unless communicated beforehand that the priest will not be available due to leave/travel out of town.
Question 3: What time is the mass scheduled for on Ash Wednesday, February 14th?
Answer 3: The Roman Catholic Ash Wednesday service will be at 12:30pm.
Question 4: If someone has responsibilities on Sunday mornings at another church, do you foresee this causing a problem in agreeing to this contract?
Answer 4: As long as he can respond to an emergency within 2 hours or have someone standing by for him during mass, it shouldn't be an issue.
Question 5: Would the priest need to be at the hospital or the provided office at any other times apart from the
Masses and emergency calls?
Answer 5: According to the PWS, they will not. Also, due to limited office spaces, the hospital doesn't have a dedicated office for the priest.
Question 6: Are there dates/times for the eight non weekly Masses? Are these for holy days of obligation or something else?
Answer 6: There are Special dates for the Special masses, but we don’t have those to provide at this time.
