QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. The SOW, 1.2.4 “MHU Fire Sprinkler System (UFAS Units Only) --- how many of the:

BASE PERIOD-6 MONTHS, 25 units and BASE PERIOD-QUANTITY OPTIONS 50 == are to be UFAS?

a. Generally, we estimate that 10% of all units installed will be UFAS.

2. In the “Statement of Work” Section 8, Subsection 8.6, bullet number five (5) it states “Transport to the FEMA staging site at 5000 Patrol Rd, McClellan, CA 95652”. Section 8.1 states “up to 200 miles”. Could you please clarify?

a. That was an error. The staging area is located at 2700 East Dupont Ave Belle, WV 25015. If that address changes you will be informed in writing prior to the change by the COR.

3. If transport to installation site, or deactivation is beyond 200 miles, how will this be handled?

a. We do not anticipate needing to transport over 200 miles. However, if this occurs, the contractor will be asked submit a price per mile over 200.

4. Is it possible to extend the bid by 48 hours?

a. No.

5. Is there a definitive number of MHU units?

6. Will one MHU occupy one lot, if not is there a typical number per lot?

a. Yes for commercial sites. Private sites may have more than one unit based on need and family composition.

7. How are terminus points handled per lot, per unit, if existing utility services are not available?

a. Utility services will have been scouted and locations (hookup points) will have been noted on site drawings. Possible exception is for power which the contractor will then have to install a temporary power pole with meter loop (section 6.4c of SOW) for the electric company to connect to. Water and sewer will have to be located on site before any installation work order is issued.

However, some digging/excavation may be needed to locate services. That will be notated on the work order.

8. Is contractor responsible for any paving, temporary surfacing, or stone aggregates per lot?

a. A stone aggregate or other approved material will be used to crown each site. In addition, FEMA may task the contractor to add sidewalks/driveway on some UFAS pads. That would be at a pre-approved other direct cost.

9. Do lots/locations have to be restored to original condition post deactivation?

a. Yes.

10. Have any preliminary locations been established?

11. Have feasibility surveys been completed for any locations.

a. Yes.

12. Are approved locations available to view?

a. No approved locations available to view at this time.

13. Are coordinates available for approved locations?

a. No approved locations available to view at this time.

14. Are utility services restored to installation locations that will not impact the scheduling of the delivery/setup?

a. Utility services will be available in the area.

FAR 52.226-4, incorporated by reference (see page 12 of the solicitation) is hereby incorporated by full text as follows:
