Amendment No. 0002

The purpose of this amendment is as follows:

a.

The period of performance for CGC BOUTWELL under this requirement is changed to read as follows:

FROM: 03 December 2012 through 06 March 2013

TO: 03 December 2012 through 22 February 2013 b.

The date to submit proposals is extended until 22 October 2012 at 2:00 P.M., Pacific Standard Time.

c.

The following are the answers to the Request for Clarifications:

QUESTION NO. 10: Work Item D-03, Reduction Gear Hot Oil Flush, paragraph 3.8.2.1.4, item paragraph requires contractor fabrication of flushing baskets as per NAVSEA Drawing 6965710, which was not received with solicitation references. Request reference drawing for estimating purposes to be provided.

ANSWER: NAVSEA Drawing 6965710 is hereby incorporated to the solicitation and is made as attachment to the Amendment A002.

QUESTION NO. 2: Optional 4, Main Engine Lifting and Realignment Final, paragraph 3.10.4; Amend. A001, Question #3; A001 answer question #3 specification will remain the same; plug weld (8) existing fitted bolt holes in the engine foundation using authorized OEM procedures. Please provide OEM procedures. What is the Base Material of Foundation: ISSUE: Raising the MDE on the jacking bolts may not be high enough to weld from the top, there are significant interferences below the engine to weld from beneath. This may require lifting the MDE using the MDE Lifting brackets to gain an acceptable height for welding. Does the CG know based on the location of the holes requiring welding that they are accessible for welding by lifting jacking bolts only? If not, please advise scope of interference and possible use of MDE lining brackets.

ANSWER: if the holes for the “fitted bolts” are too large in the chance that this work item is activated, these issues will be addressed via submission of condition found report (CFR) and change request or quick chit. For bidding purposes, assume that the base material of the foundation is steel and that the Coast Guard will provide 4ft stands and lifting brackets as Government furnished Material (GFM).

d.

Also, based on the answers to the clarifications, the specification for this requirement has been revised. Specification, Revision No. 2 is hereby incorporated and made part of this requirement. The revised specification is made as attachment to Amendment A002. All prospective offerors are advised to utilize the revised specification for submitting proposals to the solicitation.
