Question regarding Solicitation HSCG38-11-Q-500036

1. Why the high heat capacity of 350,000 btu/hr?

The current Air Conditioning/Heating Cart used by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) has a 275,000 btu/hr capacity in the heating mode and 288,000 btu/hr in the cooling mode. The USCG’s requirement is for a 24 ton unit. The unit must be able to simultaneously cool/heat two HC-144A (CASA) aircraft. If the btu/hr needs to be less due to new EPA restrictions or other reasons, please provide that information in the quotation and confirm that the btu/hr rating of the respective Air Conditioning/Heating Cart will meet the USCG’s need.

2. Do you need a dual output unit?

Yes, the unit must have the capability to cool two HC-144A (CASA) aircraft simultaneously maintaining the aircraft comfort of both aircraft to below 80 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer and above 60 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter.

3. In the specs, you list a 12” x 8” x 30’ wire supported and insulated air delivery hose. Should the price include the reducer hose and aircraft connector piece that secures this outlet hose to the aircraft?

After further review of the USCG’s requirements, the hose type is being changed to a 12’ lay flat hose that necks to 8” at the bitter end (aircraft end). The hose should be 40’ in length instead of 30’. The USCG’s current hose does not have a reducer.
