SBI Mission and Goals: Working Drafts The mission of SBI is to enhance and improve border security through identification, design, development, deployment, and sustainment of tools, capabilities, and other systems; to bridge acquisition and operations; and to provide program management expertise and acquisition competency for implementing and executing nationally significant border security programs.
Goal 1: Enhance and improve border security through application of technology and tactical infrastructure Goal 2: Create a center of excellence for acquisition and program management Goal 3: Enhance, facilitate, and support operational integration including DOTMLPF (doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities) and requirements
Mission defines the purpose of the office.
A strategic goal is a statement of aim or purpose that defines how an agency will carry out a major segment of its mission over time. The goal is expressed in a manner that allows a future assessment to be made of whether the goal is or was being achieved.
Objectives should be specific, realistic, and measurable. What exactly are we going to do? Who is going to do it? What is the specific outcome desired?
SIP will contain The Goal (or Subordinate Goal) and then a brief overview on the purpose of the objective, the specific tasks involved, how it will achieve the higher level goal and how it ties to CBP goals/objectives.
