About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for Request for Proposal HQ072726QCB04. The document addresses inquiries from potential contractors regarding the manufacture of PCMCIA Panel A and Panel B components, with a total requirement of 60,000 units per side.

Key technical and contractual details include: material, thickness, and finish specifications are provided in attached drawings; dimensional tolerances of ±0.10 mm apply to all stamped and formed features; first article documentation requirements consist of material certifications and dimensional inspection reports only. The delivery schedule remains to be determined, but the Government does not require all 60,000 units delivered simultaneously; initial delivery is expected in the range of 1,000-2,000 units following first article review completion. The Government will own all completed tooling, and any tooling changes resulting from design review or first article inspection will be processed through the supplier's Engineering Change Order (ECO) process. Part numbers are tentatively identified as PCMCIA Panel A and PCMCIA Panel B but remain subject to change pending finalization of the Government's part numbering strategy. Detailed specifications are provided through updated 3D models and 2D drawings with minimal dimensions; no sample parts are available prior to award.

Questions and Answers from the Government’s Request for Proposal HQ072726QCB04

Note: All questions have been revised to be made anonymous and in the form of a question. Our intent is to provide the most honest and accurate answers as possible regarding the facts and the

Government’s intent. With that being, said should any conflict arise between this document and the solicitation, the solicitation prevails/overrules. We hope you find this helpful.

Q1. What material, thickness, and finish are required for each part?

A1. Please refer to attached drawings for details.

Q2. What dimensional tolerances and inspection requirements should we assume for pricing?

A2. ± 0.10 mm for all stamped, formed features.

Q3. Is there an existing drawing, sample part, or additional product information that can be provided before award?

A3. Yes, Full SD Legacy PCMCIA Side A/ Side B attached (minimal dimensions). Please refer to updated 3D models for detailed features, no sample parts unfortunately.

Q4. What delivery schedule should we assume for the tooling, first articles, and production quantities? Will the 60,000 units per side be delivered at once or through scheduled releases?

A4. Delivery schedule is TBD but we do NOT require all 60K units to be delivered at once. After the first article review is completed (refer to sections 3.3.1.4 and 3.3.2.4 of PWS), I expect initial delivery will be in the range of 1-2K but again, we need to define those details.

Q5. What documentation is required with the first articles, such as a dimensional inspection report and material certifications?

A5. Material certs and dimensional inspection suffice.

Q6. Who will own the completed tooling, and how should tooling changes resulting from the design review or first article inspection be handled?

A6. The Government will own the completed tooling. With respect to tooling changes, these can be handled via supplier’s ECO process.

Q7. We would like to confirm the exact part numbers, 2D drawings of the items, and matching models – inclusive of the changes?

A7. Part Numbers: PCMCIA Panel A; PCMCIA Panel B (exact part numbers are TBD once we completely figure out our part numbering strategy for the entire assembly); 2D drawings:

Attached, minimal dimensions as all details are in the new 3D models; 3D models: Attached, they match the 2D drawings.
