About this file
This document is an Addendum to an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the Hermiston School District 8R in Hermiston, Oregon for the High School Promethean TVs project. The project involves the installation of 43 Promethean TVs in classrooms at the district's high school. The addendum clarifies that the existing dry erase/white boards should remain in place, and the new Promethean TVs should be installed over them. Additionally, the addendum provides answers to various questions from potential bidders regarding the removal and disposal of existing equipment, ceiling tile replacement, wall cuts and patching, and the location of teacher drops in specific rooms. The bid submittal deadline remains unchanged at 10 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on Monday, April 17, 2023.
The ITB requires bidders to provide materials and labor to wire and install the owner-supplied Promethean TVs in the classrooms, per the district's specifications. The project is located within Umatilla County, Oregon. Bidders should include the cost of patch panels, with CommScope brand being an acceptable option. The district will coordinate any necessary painting to ensure appropriate color matching after the completion of the project.

2.0 – QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
The following questions and answers are provided as a matter of information to clarify issues raised about the Bid documents.
Item Questions and Answers
1 QUESTION: Are the whiteboards that are currently in the classroom supposed to come down, or should the new promethean TV be mounted over the top?
ANSWER: Keep the existing whiteboards in place and mount new device over the top. ITB has been revised above to reflect this answer.
2 QUESTION: Where will demoed equipment like old promethean boards need to go?
ANSWER: The old white Promethean Boards should be discarded, while the black devices, which are more current technology, should be stacked in an orderly fashion in common areas, free from blocking paths of travel. District staff will transport to offsite storage.
3 QUESTION: Does the district have a stock of replacement ceiling tiles, and will the district replace that need to be replaced after the project?
ANSWER: The district does have replacement ceiling tiles and will replace the ones that need to be replaced after the project.
4 QUESTION: Are the ceiling mounted projectors to be removed?
ANSWER: Yes 5 QUESTION: If wall cuts are needed (particularly in the '92 wing that has "fire block") should the bid include cut & patch, or will the district fix the holes?
ANSWER: Vendor’s bids should include fixing whatever holes they make. The district will coordinate necessary painting to ensure appropriate color match.
6 QUESTION: If surface mount raceways are needed, particularly in the band & choir rooms, should conduit or wire mold be used?
ANSWER: Conduit is preferable. Wiremold tends to fall off the wall as the double-sided tape holding it on degrades over time.
7 QUESTION: In the band & choir room, where should the drops be for the teacher stations?
Should they go all the way back to the office, or be in the actual classroom area?
ANSWER: Teacher drops in these areas should be in the actual classroom space, not the office.
8 QUESTION: Should bids include patch panels, or will the district supply? Is CommScope the preferred material, or is there something different that should be used?
ANSWER: Bids should include patch panels. CommScope brand is acceptable.
9 Map of the building is included. Red dots represent the 43 classrooms where new Promethean
TVs will be installed. Solid red line emphasizes the eight portable classrooms are not part of this project.
