Joint Commissary Exchange Annapolis Questions and Responses Continuation

50. The keynotes on sheet A12.3 reference sheets: ID4.1-ID4.15, ID5.0, ID5.9, & ID5.11.

We cannot locate these sheets and they are not in the drawing index.

RESPONSE: General Note 1 of drawing A12.1 identifies location of this information.

51. There is no reference for a symbol that is attached to the duct on sheet E2.1. What does the dotted line duct that is located in room 104 Customer Service mean?

RESPONSE: The duct that is shown dashed should be solid. This Underfloor duct is the underfloor duct that feeds the checkout counters in room 101.

Electrical power to these checkout counters should be provided from panel “LY” circuits as currently shown on this plan (E2.1) and panel schedule for panel “LY” on E7.4.

52. Detail 6/E4.1 shows the duct layout which is in direct conflict with the keynote 15 sheet E2.1. How should the duct be laid out?

RESPONSE: The duct layout on detail 6/E4.1 is correct. Note #15 on sheet E2.1 is only intended to cover the power portion of the under floor duct arrangement. Sheet E3.7 picks up the communications and data requirements.

53. Would you consider cast in place concrete walls with permanent insulated forms in place of the 12” CMU on this building?

RESPONSE: Substitution requests will not be considered prior to award of Contract. Refer to Specification Section 01300 for substitution requests after award of Contract.

54. On Sheets A1.10 and A1.1.2 there are three display Cases (2ea Item 1D02-3 and 1ea Item 1D02-5). These three items are not listed in the specs and they are not listed on the Equipment Schedule. Please provide the proper information for these items so they can be properly priced.

RESPONSE: Refer to Drawings R1.1.2 and R3.2. A specification for equipment item 1D02 is included in the attached Technical Addendum.

55. J.V. Manufacturing, Inc. said the Baler specified in Section 11170 Baler is not made anymore. The specification has information that is based on the Basis of Design product and not performance related. Please clarify what requirements apply to this project for the Baler.

RESPONSE: Concurrent with release of the Construction Issue documents in March 2012, the basis-of-design manufacturer advised that the specified model

30 July 12 was still available. Contact J.V. Manufacturing, Doug Hardman (479) 872-7320 or dhardman@jv.com for information.

56. On Drawing C2.1 - Please clarify that the basement has been filled and compacted per specifications from another contract and that this work will not be accounted for with this project proposal.

RESPONSE: Information relating to removal of Bldg. 128 is noted on drawing C2.1. A copy of demolition specifications for Bldg. 128 was included as an attachment to the solicitation documents for reference. Unless indicated otherwise in the solicitation documents, contractors should rely on the information provided during preparation of bid.

57. On Drawing C6.1: There is existing electrical running parallel to Greenbury Point

Road and are noted to be lowered / relocated at (2) locations to avoid the Micro- Bioretention Areas and (1) location to avoid the proposed storm sewer. There are not details or references describing what this electrical is. This existing electrical is not shown on the Site Electrical drawings. Please clarify what these electrical lines are and what they consist of (i.e. quantity of conduits, quantity of conductors, sizes, etc.)

This item will not be able to be priced without clarification.

RESPONSE: There are two existing electrical line running parallel to Greenbury Point. The electrical line that is in conflict with the two (2) Micro- Bioretention areas, needs to be lowered/relocated due to conflict with the two

(2) micro-bioretention areas. This line is an existing electrical service to the existing street lights. This is likely a 1” conduit and should be relocated by the construction contractor to be outside or below the Bioretention areas.

The other electrical line shown with note to lower/relocate the existing electrical line due to a conflict with the storm sewer is an existing electrical primary, and the note is in error. This note should be revised to require the contractor to coordinate the installed vertical location of the storm sewer with the existing electrical line to avoid conflict with the existing electrical line.
