INTERESTED SOURCE QUESTIONS WITH GOVERNMENT RESPONSES

Questions:

1. In the “Appendix B – PEN Furniture – REV 1” file under Section 2.2 Reception Desk Workstation – Wall Panel, line-item h, could you please provide the specifications for the pre-finished metal magnetic white board?

ANSWER: This is to be an item provided by the workstation manufacturer – and takes the place of the regular fabric wall panel. We prefer a ceramic-coated metal panel. But other options may be acceptable if presented to us – and accepted by us.

2. In the “Appendix B – PEN Furniture – REV 1” file under Section 2.3 Reception Desk Workstations – Work Surfaces, line-item a, could you please provide the configuration of worksurface dimensions and shape? Is the System Furniture 72" x 96" w/ transaction counter an L-shaped worksurface or two worksurfaces?

ANSWER: See Appendix A – Design Intent Drawings, Sheet I-500, detail 1, which shows the reception desk. This detail notes two worksurfaces - one section as “7224” (72” x 24”) – and the other section as “7224” (72” x 24”).

3. In the “Appendix B – PEN Furniture – REV 1” file under Section 2.4, could you please provide the dimensions for the box/box/file and file/file?

ANSWER: They are approximately 15” to 18” wide (depending on manufacturer’s standard size) x 22” deep – and need to fit under the worksurface (+/- 27.5” tall).

4. In the “Appendix B – PEN Furniture – REV 1” file under Section 3.1 Hotel Workstation, could you please confirm the configuration? Is each hotel workstation individual or are there shared panels/components?

ANSWER: See Appendix A – Design Intent Drawings, Sheet I-500, detail 3, which shows the Hotel Workstation. This detail shows 2 separate items which form the workstation. One metal storage cabinet (with a 1.25” thick wood-grain laminate top) – and one sit-stand electric desk. These two pieces of furniture (which do not share panels or components) form the workstation unit. If two Hotel Workstations are set side-by-side in a room, they are not intended to share any panels or components.

See Appendix A – Design Intent Drawings, Sheet I-100.

There are eighteen (18) 60” x 3” Hotel Workstations with adjacent storage cabinet.

There are two (2) modified configuration Hotel Workstations 60” x 30” – without adjacent storage cabinet.

There are four (4) modified configuration Hotel Workstations 48” x 30” – with lockable hutch over adjacent storage cabinet.

Ther is one (1) modified configuration Hotel Workstation (noted as keynote 10) 60” x 30” – with lockable hutch over adjacent storage cabinet.

5. In the “Appendix B – PEN Furniture – REV 1” file under Section 3.1.2 Hotel Workstation – Work surfaces, could you please confirm the dimensions of the worksurfaces? 60" x 30" electric sit-stand desk and 48" x 30" electric sit-stand desk as shown in the quantities on

“CLIN PRICING WORKSHEET – REV 1”.

ANSWER: Use info from Appendix A – Design Intent Drawings. The typical Electric sit-stand desks is 60” x 30” (5’-0” x 2’-6”). AND see note above for modified units.

6. In the “Appendix B – PEN Furniture – REV 1” file under Section 5.3 Conference Room Computer Cart, could you please confirm if it would be acceptable for the computer cart to be matching in color scheme and not an exact laminate veneer match to the conference table?

ANSWER: Matching color scheme works

8. Could you please confirm the panel height range desired for the hotel stations?

ANSWER: Hotel Stations have no panels. The worktop moves from 28” to 48” high.

9. Could you please confirm the panel height range desired for the reception desk?

ANSWER: See Appendix A – Design Intent Drawings, Sheet I-500, detail 1 calls for 64” tall typical panels. The wall panels under the transaction counter should be approximately 36” to 42” tall (per manufacturer’s standard panel sizes).

10. In the “Appendix B – PEN Furniture – REV 1” file under Section 3.4 Image Desk (AKA Anti- Static Workbench), could you please confirm the dimensions of the worksurfaces?

A. 60" x 30" anti-static, 1 ¼" thick work top with laminate veneer, and height adjustable

(30” to 36”) or Image Desk 80” x 24” as shown on “Clin Pricing Worksheet – Rev 1”

ANSWER: See Attachment A – Design Intent Drawings, Sheet I-100. Image Desk. 60” x 30” worksurface. Worksurface height to be adjustable from 30” to 36” tall.

11. Is there an updated Appendix A (Design Intent Drawings) available to reflect the updated project scope?

ANSWER: Yes, an updated set (Rev 1) was issued previously. An updated set (Rev 2) is attached with this Amendment.

12. Please provide specifications / requirements for Lobby waiting - chairs and Lobby waiting - side table as listed in the CLIN Pricing Worksheet.

ANSWER: These items were replaced with a bar-height table and high stools – as shown on Appendix A – Design Intent Drawings, Sheet I-100.

13. Appendix B, there are a number of references to “woodgrain laminate veneer” . Please confirm the specification is for a laminate solution not a wood veneer solution.

ANSWER: Wood-grain laminate veneer is plastic laminate veneer with a simulated wood grain appearance and a smooth finish (so as not to hamper writing on the worksurface). This is terminology taken from furniture manufacturer’s literature.

14. Can you confirm that we are not to connect the workstation power whips to the power and that will be handled by the base’s electrical contractor?

ANSWER: It was our intention that the furniture contractor would do final hook-up of the Reception Desk workstation. See PWS, Section 6.3.2. This should just be plugging the desk to the wall power.

15. Can you confirm that we are not to install the data wiring in the workstation panels and are only to provide the raceways as noted on the requirements.

ANSWER: It was our intention that all data wiring would be by DISA personnel. See PWS, Section 6.3.4 and 6.3.4.1. This should just be a CAT5/6 cable hooked up to the workstation.

16. In the “Appendix B – PEN Furniture – REV 1” file under Section 5.3 Conference Room Computer Cart, could you please confirm if it would be acceptable for the computer cart to be matching in color scheme and not an exact laminate veneer match to the conference table?

ANSWER: Yes, it is acceptable for the computer cart to be matching in color scheme and not an exact match to the conference table.

17. Can the government confirm if the freight elevator will be available for use? Or should vendors include a stair carry option?

ANSWER: The freight elevator will be available for use.

18. Is there a straight-away entrance into the building without steps?

ANSWER: No, the vendor will need a forklift to get the furniture from the parking lot into the building.

19. If sizes requested do not fit within the office spaces, are we allowed to re-size the workstations?

ANSWER: Revised FY25 Furniture Install Document further provides detail.

Recommend the desks be placed close to the wall. The L shaped desks in 3341 and 3325 should be next to the wall so the vertical portion of the desk is close to the wall. This configuration allows the desk in 3308 to have maximum view through the window.

20. Can the government confirm 3312 should include 2 hotel stations rather than the conference room reflected on the drawing?

ANSWER: Yes

21. Can the government confirm 3311 should include 3 hotel stations rather than the office reflected on the drawing?

ANSWER: Yes

22. Can the government elaborate on power or data requirements in each of the conference and collaborative tables?

ANSWER: Conference table: See Appendix B, section 5.2.1 and PWS sections

6.3. Collaboration tables: See Appendix B, sections 8.5, 8.6.1, and 8.6.2.

23. Can the government confirm the configuration for the 72” x 18” metal cabinet is open shelving and no drawer storage?

ANSWER: No drawers are required – open shelving only with a vertical divider at center point to keep shelf length to a 3’ span.

24. Would the government accept a laminate 72” x 18” cabinet for the above in lieu of metal?

ANSWER: A metal cabinet with metal legs/feet is preferred (with 1.25” thick plastic laminate woodgrain worksurface) with similar finish to coordinate stylistically with the sit-stand desk. However, if a laminate unit is stylistically compatible with the sit-stand desk – it would be considered.

25. Can the government confirm if the count of 80 data drops? The counts on the drawing show a different quantity, please confirm.

ANSWER: We anticipate two (2) data drops to each data port. However, per PWS, section 6.3.4, DISA will be responsible for all communication system work. The exact number of data drops would have to be confirmed with the space occupant/user. It is possible that not all data ports shown on the plans will be utilized. Will verify with site but plan on having all materials for 80 drops. This material needs to be delivered 1st, before furniture, so we can be completed in “Clean Room” (No Furniture)
