Quoters must provide a certification letter from a religious certification agency dated no more than 11 months from the quote date. Specific requirements apply to individual meal components: Mixed Vegetables contain carrots, corn, peas, green beans, and lima beans with not more than 40 percent by weight of each primary ingredient; Peas and Carrots contain not more than 40 percent carrots and 40 percent green peas; Mashed Potatoes are made from commercially prepared flakes without peel or fresh potatoes using only water, spices, and minimal binder; and Tomato Sauce uses commercially prepared or crushed tomatoes with spices and minimal binder.
