Q1) Regarding the RFI requirement; “FoS must have a common operating system and interface across variants.” Does the Government mean operating system as in a computer operating system? Such as Windows, Linux, or Mac? Or is the Government asking if each component of the “family of systems” uses the same operating system (e.g., all use Rocky Linux, or all use Rocky Linux version 9)?
A1) The intent is for common software and interface (OS and applications) across “family of systems” variants to facilitate - support, patching, feature updates, cyber security, etc.
