Questions / Answers October 14, 2014
The following addresses all questions received since October 10, 2014.
Q1. Sheet ES-003 calls for the conduit to be 1-1/2”, ES-104 calls the same conduit out as 1” in plan note 3. Sheet ES-003 calls for 2 each 1-1/2” conduits in one run; ES-104 calls for a single 1” in that same run, again reflecting plan note 3 and the detail 1a/E502 also shows as 1 – 1” conduit.
A1. All conduits called out on sheet ES003 are conduits for security system low voltage data wiring.
Conduits on sheet ES104 are separate conduits for security system 120V wiring. These two systems need dedicated conduits and the wiring cannot share a single conduit.
Q2. What is the intent of the options pricing for the CCTV system? Section 012600 is written in such a way that could lead you to believe that what is to be priced in each option is labeled on the CCTV drawings and nothing is labeled as to what option it is to be included in. As an example when you overlay the phases from sheet CD100 on sheet ES003 there are areas of conduits runs shared between different phases so for each option to be all inclusive of the scope needed for that phase to work, section of conduit, handholds etc.. need to be include twice, once in option 1 for phase 1 and again in option 3 for phase 3. A similar overlap occurs between phase 2 and phase 4.
Please confirm what is to be included in each pricing option for the CCTV system as nothing is labeled on the drawings as described in section 012600.
A2. Work shall be included in phases shown. For conduit runs that extend from one phase area to another, the contractor shall include conduit stubbing out from the origination point in the first phase, capping off at the boundary line between phases for continuation in the next phase.
