The PBS CO, COR, or POC shall advise the Contractor that the “Reason Fingerprinted” block on each finger print card shall state the following: “WORK ON CONTRACT # (INSERT CONTRACT NUMBER) IN BUILDING # (INSERT BUIDLING NUMBER). SECTION 1 of CIW

Ensure all information for every Contract Employee is completed.

Critical Item - Contract employee must enter their entire middle name in the middle name field, not just their initial. If their middle name is an initial or if they have no middle name, they should indicate "initial only" or "no middle name" which ever applies.

Critical Item - Contract employee must enter e-Mail address.

Critical Item - “Position Title” must be entered, i.e., Construction Worker, Cleaner, etc.

After receipt of PBS Suitability (clearance) request submissions with CIW(s), DHS/FPS 176T(s), and two (2) completed FD 258 Fingerprint Card(s), FPS will perform a Suitability Determination that allows contract employees with a Favorable Adjudication to begin work on the contract and access the GSA facility as follows:.

The GSA PBS CO, COR, or POC is notified electronically of the Suitability Determination:

Unfavorable Suitability Determination - Contract employee can’t work on the GSA contract or receive a building ID.

Favorable Suitability Determination - Contract employee can start work on the GSA contract and receive a building ID.

NOTE: A Favorable Suitability Determination (clearance) for Temporary contract employees granted through this process is only good up to six (6) months. If it is believed a contract employee may work longer than six (6) months, the procedure for long term clearances should be followed from the beginning. The long term clearance process requires that the applicant complete the Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-Quip) on line SF-85P application in lieu of the DHS/FPS 176T. If a Temporary contract employee is found working past six months without an HSPD-12 compliant clearance (NACI), he will immediately be removed from working in the GSA facility and on the GSA contract.
