Design/Build New United States Courthouse and Repair and Alteration of The Historic John Campbell Courthouse, Mobile, Alabama.
SMALL BUSINESS SUBCONTRACTING OUTREACH
On Monday, August 25th, 2014, The United States General Services Administration (GSA) will conduct a Small Business Subcontracting Outreach and Networking Session for prospective Small Business Subcontractors, for the design/building (D/B) construction of the Design/Build New United States Courthouse and Repair and Alteration of The Historic John Campbell Courthouse, Mobile, Alabama. The Small Business Subcontracting Outreach & Networking Session will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Central Time at 201 Saint Michael Street Mobile, AL 36602 in the first floor RSC Main Training Room.
The GSA Public Buildings Service (PBS) has a requirement to procure services for design and construction of a new United States Courthouse and for the design and construction of the repair and alteration of the Historic John Campbell Courthouse, located in Mobile, Alabama. The Project involves the design and construction of an approximately 155,000 gross square foot courthouse, including 38 controlledaccess indoor parking spaces, and the Repair and Alteration of the 115,000 Gross Square Feet John Campbell Building.
The Small Business Subcontracting Outreach is intended to affirm GSA’s recognition of the talent that exists in the small business community and its commitment to opening a dialog between that community and the D/B teams that have been shortlisted for this project. The D/B team that is selected for this project will be required to submit a subcontracting plan prior to contract award, demonstrating a commitment to awarding (25%) of the total subcontracted dollars mutually agreed upon by the prospective awardee and the government within the following categories: Small Disadvantaged Businesses (5%) WomanOwned Small Businesses – (5%) HubZone Small Businesses (3%), VeteranOwned Businesses (3%), Service Disabled VeteranOwned Businesses (3%). This event is designed to help identify A/E and construction resources in the local community for all the shortlisted DB teams.
Prospective small business subcontractors will be given an opportunity to network with the shortlisted DB teams and to showcase their special talents and abilities as qualified subcontractors. It is anticipated that this Small Business Subcontracting Outreach will assist the shortlisted DB teams in identifying qualified subcontractors to meet the subcontracting goals listed above for this project. However, GSA is not permitted by law to be a party to contractual relationships between potential prime and subcontractors.
Any contracts that may be entered into as a result of this Small Business Subcontracting Outreach will be strictly private arrangements between the interested parties based on perceived ability and need.
Questions about this Small Business Subcontracting Outreach should be directed to Ms. Mildred Quinley, Director, GSA Regional Office of Small Business Utilization. Telephone
