About this file

This document is a requirement specification for contractors performing work at Grissom Air Reserve Base (ARB) regarding hazardous material identification and notification procedures.

Contractors are required to provide a comprehensive list of all toxic chemicals and materials to be used during contract performance, including any chemicals regulated under OSHA expanded standards. Prior to entering Grissom ARB, contractors must also notify the Contracting Officer if their work involves the use of lasers or radioactive material. The document includes a detailed crosswalk table of 19 OSHA expanded standards and corresponding requirements, including specific chemicals such as asbestos, lead, beryllium, cadmium, benzene, formaldehyde, and respirable crystalline silica. For each chemical, the table specifies permissible exposure limits, supplementary occupational exposure exposure limits, training requirements, medical surveillance protocols, monitoring procedures, and workplace controls such as regulated areas, change rooms, worker rotation, and emergency action plans. The table was updated as of February 7, 2017, to incorporate the 29 CFR 1910.1024 Beryllium Expanded Standard and serves as a reference for contractors to identify applicable OSHA compliance obligations based on materials used during contract performance at the installation.
