About this file

This is a Salient Characteristics document that establishes minimum physical, functional, and performance requirements for an audio/video equipment package being procured by the United States Marine Corps. The document is brand-neutral and intended to facilitate competition while ensuring equipment meets the Government's functional needs. The procurement requires nine distinct equipment categories totaling specific quantities: two professional digital wireless handheld microphone systems, two professional digital wireless headworn microphone systems, one four-input automatic HDMI switcher, one wireless document camera, four large-display full-motion wall mounts, three extra-large display tilting wall mounts, one 1x8 HDMI distribution/extension system, 1,000 feet of Category 6 network/A/V cable, and one professional WUXGA installation projector.

The salient characteristics specify minimum requirements for each equipment category without restricting competition through brand or model mandates. Wireless microphone systems must operate on digital UHF frequencies within the legal U.S. spectrum and provide clear status indication. Video distribution equipment must support 4K UHD resolution and HDR formats with proper HDMI handshake requirements. Display mounts must accommodate flat-panel displays ranging from 42 to 90 inches with appropriate load capacities and secure attachment methods. The HDMI distribution system must simultaneously serve eight remote display locations with category-rated cabling and centralized power management. All equipment shall be new, current production, furnished with manufacturer warranties, and mutually compatible as integrated systems. Vendors must identify specific manufacturer and model numbers with supporting technical documentation demonstrating compliance. The pre-solicitation notice requests interested businesses to identify their socio-economic status as reflected in SAM.gov to determine eligibility for potential set-asides.
