About this file
The document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Badge System issued by the Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) for 14 district-owned buildings located in Flint and surrounding areas of Michigan. The RFP seeks bids for a new access control system with badge readers, including hardware and low voltage cabling, with bids due on May 2, 2025 at 3:00 PM. A recommended pre-bid meeting is scheduled for April 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM via Zoom, and vendors can contact designated staff to schedule building walk-throughs. The project requires a comprehensive security system with upgraded badge readers, encrypted key fobs/cards, video intercom, lockdown/panic buttons, 24/7 monitoring, mobile applications, and full installation and training services.
The RFP specifies that each building should be bid as a standalone project, with pricing valid through December 31, 2025, and potential line item pricing extensible to other Genesee County school districts. It is a prevailing wage project requiring wired (not wireless) equipment compatible with GISD's VMware Virtual Server environment. The system must include 50 key fobs and 50 key cards per building, with specific technical requirements such as two-way audio intercoms, remote lock/unlock capabilities, emergency monitoring, and SMS/text alert functionality. Vendors must provide unit pricing for various components, offer mobile applications for iOS and Android, and conduct two training sessions on the new system. The district will provide power and network switches as needed, and the selected vendor must migrate existing system settings and configure all doors, users, and access schedules.
