About this file

This document is an Addendum 1 for a Badge System Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the Genesee Intermediate School District, dated April 23, 2025. The RFP seeks a new badge and access control system for multiple district buildings, with the bid submission deadline set for May 2, 2025 at 3:00 PM. The project involves replacing or integrating with existing access control platforms across 14 buildings, with most currently using ConnectOne (11 buildings) and a few using S2 (3 buildings). The proposal allows for potential reuse of existing compatible equipment and requires individual pricing for each building.

The RFP includes specific technical requirements such as integration with existing fire alarm systems, E911 phone configuration, and potential video intercom compatibility. The district prefers an on-site solution but will consider cloud-hosted options. Vendors must provide details on PoE port requirements, with the district supplying switches. Installation labor for the RFP must use prevailing wage rates corresponding to employee job classifications. The burglary system is not serialized, and existing sensors can be reused if compatible with the proposed system. Vendors are expected to remove existing cabling when removing readers and include hardware and installation costs in their pricing.

Reminder that the project can be submitted as one bid, but each building must have individual pricing.

3. Do you want a full blown fire alarm system or are we just integrating into the existing system?

a. Just integrating into the current system. If an alarm goes off at night, it needs to alert 911/fire company. All sensors tied into the fire alarm system must be tied into monitoring.

4. Does the access control platform need to dial out to the fire station or does the fire alarm handle that?

a. Fire Alarm alerting goes to the alarm/monitoring company and they dispatch automatically.

5. Does your current phone system have E911 and is it all configured.

a. Yes, it is setup and configured.

6. In removing the existing reader, does that including abandonment of existing cable?

a. Yes, please remove any existing cabling when removing an existing reader.

7. Do you want any mounting equipment and installation services included in the unit pricing?

a. Prefer onsite, but we will consider a cloud hosted solution.

a. It is not a requirement to integrate with the video system.

b. We use Avigilon for Video Surveillance. It is hosted onsite on AINVRs.

10. For burglar system, are we upgrading sensors or using existing? Is it a serialized system or not?

a. If existing sensors work with your system, you can re-use them. Otherwise, you can install new for your proposed system.

b. Burglary system is not serialized.

11. Will service after installation need to be prevailing wage or just for RFP

a. Just RFP labor needs to be prevailing wage.

12. Which labor rate do you need to use for prevailing wage? Want to make sure that everyone is using the same labor rate.

a. Please use the rates that correspond with employee job classifications. Vendor is responsible for submitting all pay documentation with all invoices.
