This insurance requirements document applies to the B026-09 Station 5 Boiler Replacement project, a $1,001 contract for furnishing labor and materials to replace the boiler system at Fire Station #5 located at 1075 East Main Street in Meriden, Connecticut. The project includes installation of a new gas-fired condensing boiler with associated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as provision of temporary domestic hot water during construction. Sealed electronic bids are due December 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. via the City eProcurement Portal, with a mandatory site inspection on November 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. and a question deadline of December 3, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. Bidders must submit a bid bond equal to ten percent of the bid amount and provide both a Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Performance Bond for 100% of the contract price. The contract includes an 18-month guarantee period from acceptance, prevailing wage rates ranging from $21.42 to $66.72, and liquidated damages of $250 per calendar day for failure to meet the stipulated timeline. The City applies a local preference policy allowing Meriden-based businesses within ten percent of the lowest bid to potentially receive the award.
