Text of this file

11/15/25 M001 It is not possible to provide a Per Year pricing for translation services unless you are asking for a full-time, in-house translator to work a certain number of hours daily or weekly.

WE BUDGET FOR AN AVERAGE OF 30 HOURS PER WEEK.

The industry standard is to provide pricing per word for translation and per hour for formatting services. Our invoices would reflect the actual work that was sent to us for translation and formatting services in the previous month. Since we don’t know the exact amount of work that you will send, it is not possible to create a Yearly Rate. The estimates you provide are helpful to get a general sense of what to expect, but they are not sufficient for us to create final pricing.

Can you amend the CLIN Structure to allow vendors to bid for translation per word and for formatting services per labor hour?

IN ADDITION TO TRANSLATION AND FORMATTING, THE CONTRACT REQUIRES ATTENDANCE AT OCCASIONAL VIRTUAL MEETINGS, LOGGING OF CORRESPONDENCE ON SPREADSHEETS, AND UPDATING THE TRANSLATION MEMORY.

Can you provide us with some representative sample documents?

SEE ATTACHED. PLEASE NOTE MX 27625 AND MX26325 ARE SENSITIVE BUT UNCLASSIFIED.

Will you always provide vendors with the original editable source files for files to be translated?

WE WILL ALMOST ALWAYS PROVIDE VENDORS WITH THE ORIGINAL EDITABLE SOURCE FILES TO BE TRANSLATED. FOR PDF DOCUMENTS, WE EXPECT THE TRANSLATOR TO CONVERT TO TEXT RECOGNITION.

What is your budget for translation and formatting services for this project?

NOT SURE IF THAT IS APPROPRIATE FOR ME TO RESPOND TO. IT IS BASED ON AN AVERAGE WORKLOAD OF 30 HOURS/WEEK OR ESTIMATED PER WORD CHARGE FOR TECHNICAL DOCUMENTS.
