About this file
FY26 CAMEO Training Course Technical Requirement
This is a Technical Requirement document for the Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC) describing a tailored five-day CAMEO training course for up to 20 Government employees. The course will be delivered off-site at the University of Mary Washington/Dahlgren Campus and includes a base year with two optional additional years (one course per year). The vendor must procure the training room, provide all computer systems and CAMEO licensing, and deliver a fully configured training environment for student use.
The course curriculum provides in-depth exploration of Systems Modeling Language (SysML) for students with strong systems engineering backgrounds and baseline CAMEO knowledge. Basic refresher topics include Block Definition Diagrams, Packages and Model Structure, Activity Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, State Machine Diagrams, Requirements Diagrams, Use Case Diagrams, Constraints and Parametric Diagrams, Cross Cutting Relationships, and Model Analysis. The requirement emphasizes custom-developed course materials with vendor-provided datasets and models covering specific use cases including creating and using stereotypes, sub-system blocks with hyperlinks, verification and satisfaction matrices, message passing between systems, system interface modeling, GUI-based simulations with data representation, team organizational structure modeling, CAMEO classification tool customization, and integration of external simulation tools for software-in-the-loop testing. The course culminates in a two-day MBSE Lab to reinforce learned concepts and excludes coverage of the MagicGrid framework.

FY26 CAMEO Training Course
Technical Requirement
1. (U) Scope.
(U) Scope. The Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC) has a requirement for a tailored, private five-day CAMEO training for up to 20 JWAC Government employees. This can be third party instruction using the CAMEO platform. To enhance the effectiveness of mission customer tasking, JWAC must increase the number of modeling-proficient analysts through customized baseline training. This course will deepen participants’ understanding of SysML and CAMEO, equipping analyst engineers and modelers with the skills needed to better support customer tasking. It will cover advanced
SysML concepts, with practical hands-on exercises following each module, and culminate in a two-day MBSE Lab. The course will take place off-site at the University of Mary Washington/Dahlgren
Campus, located directly across from the JWAC facility.
(U) There is the potential that multiple years of this training, one course per year, will be needed to meet long term Government needs related to CAMEO, thus this includes a base year and two options.
2. (U) Requirement.
(U) A five-day course that provides an in-depth exploration of SysML, focusing on the language order starting with blocks, and includes practical hands-on exercises after each module. This is designed for students with a strong systems engineering background and an established systems engineering process with base knowledge of SysML and CAMEO. The course does not cover the
MagicGrid framework and culminates in a 2-day MBSE Lab to reinforce the concepts learned. The
Government is requesting custom-developed course material on the below topics based on the provided use cases, with all datasets, models, etc. being provided by the vendor.
(U) Basic topics (refresher) will include:
➢ Block Definition Diagram
➢ Packages and Model Structure
➢ Activity Diagrams
➢ Sequence Diagrams
➢ State Machine Diagrams
➢ Requirements Diagrams
➢ Tailored Use Case Diagrams
➢ Constraints and Parametric Diagrams
➢ Cross Cutting Relationships and Model Analysis
➢ Developing Concept, Logical, and Physical Models (Lab)
(U) Examples of use-cases that JWAC would like specific training on:
➢ Creating and using stereotypes to represent base model systems
➢ Creating systems using sub-system blocks as parts, including being able to hyperlink the components for ease of viewing
➢ Matching blocks, components, values, and external files to requirements using verification and satisfaction matrices
➢ Sending messages between multiple systems (blocks), and using either action blocks or opaque actions to implement ALH or external scripts to represent the way data will be processed
➢ Identifying and modeling system interfaces
➢ Creating simulations with GUIs that represent the data and messages being sent, as well as system variables that are used on blocks
➢ Modeling team organizational structure, including communication/interface pathways
➢ Customization of CAMEOs built-in classification tools
➢ Integrating external simulation tools (software-in-the-loop) to test isolated portions of simulations
This course will require vendor to procure the room at the University of Mary Washington Dahlgren
Campus and provide any computer systems/licensing and a fully configured training environment for student use to complete the course.
