About this file

This document is a procurement specification listing from the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) for the replacement of nine water softeners and brine tanks at the Jack Mabley Developmental Center in Dixon, Illinois. The project requires the removal and disposal of the existing water softeners and brine tanks, and the installation of equivalent capacity replacements. Vendors must attend a mandatory pre-bid onsite meeting, comply with social distancing and face covering requirements, and schedule all work during the Center's hours of operation. The project has a 12-month warranty on work performed and 24-month warranty on installed units. Bids are considered "not to exceed" the stated dollar amount, and the winning bidder must provide a performance bond if the project exceeds $50,000.

The procurement specifications also include additional onsite guidance, such as temperature checks and health screenings for vendors, as well as requirements for the Prevailing Wage Act and compliance with the Center's policies. The winning bidder must coordinate with the Center's engineer to ensure all work is approved upon completion.
