About this file
This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by Iron Mountain Public Schools for School Safety Grant Projects covering the Administration Building and Izzo-Mariucci Athletic Center located in Iron Mountain, Michigan. The RFP seeks proposals for upgrading security equipment across three project sections: the Izzo-Mariucci Way entrance secure vestibule, the Administration Building's gym entrance, and the Administration Building's hallway door replacement. Vendors may bid on one or multiple project sections, with sealed bids due by April 1st, 2025 at 2:00 PM CDT. The bid opening will occur on the same day at 3:00 PM CDT at the district's Central Office, with vendors being evaluated and selected individually for each project section.
The RFP emphasizes specific security component requirements, including high-strength steel or aluminum doors, fire-rated components, commercial-grade locks, electric strikes, and compatibility with the district's existing Schlage S123 keyway master system. The project will be partially funded through a security grant, with the district giving preference to Michigan-based businesses, particularly those owned by veterans. Bidders must submit comprehensive documentation, including a bid form cover letter, familial disclosure form, Iran Economic Sanctions Act certification, and insurance coverage details. The district will evaluate bids based on factors such as vendor experience, performance history, capitalization, and alignment with project specifications.
