About this file

This document is an addendum to the invitation to bid (ITB) issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) for the Southwest Regional Office Window Replacement project. The addendum addresses questions received from prospective bidders and extends the due date for sealed bids to August 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM ET. The public bid opening will also be on August 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM ET, and the anticipated date of intended award is September 5, 2023. The ITB calls for the removal and replacement of 127 windows at the FWC's Southwest Regional Office located in Polk County, Florida. The project is open to all qualified vendors registered in the MyFloridaMarketPlace system and with Sunbiz prior to the bid opening.

Regarding pricing, the addendum clarifies that the exterior of the building is all wood framing, so the windows will be attaching to wood frames in all locations. However, due to the age of the building and potential previous modifications, FWC cannot guarantee that every window location will be the same. Vendors are encouraged to visit the site during normal business hours to assess the conditions before submitting their bids. No questions may be asked of FWC personnel during such site visits.

Item #2 –Questions and Answers

Question: A key piece of information is missing from the drawings package issued.

1) What is the substrate that we are attaching to the perimeters?

2) What is the structure between the single hung windows? Are those mullions or wood?

These section details are missing from the drawings and could affect the price of the bid significantly.

FWC 22/23-110C ADDENDUM #2 3

Answer: An additional plan page is being emailed to the vendors who submitted confidentiality forms. It does appear the exterior is all wood framing, so windows will be attaching to wood frame in all locations. However, due to the age of the building, the possibility of previous work changing the original installation and the other factors, FWC cannot guarantee that every window location will be the same. The outside of the building is available during normal business hours for an in-person assessment if you wish to view it in person before bidding . Note: No questions may be asked of FWC personnel during such an assessment.
